1-The call from South America

Over the years, Amandine, inspired by travel stories, decided that her trip to South America would not be a simple tourist trip. So she decided it would be a real cultural immersion and support for the communities that would host her.

2-An adventure in Peru

Her adventure began in Peru, where she decided to get off the beaten path. So, when she arrived in Cusco, she sought homestay because she wanted to experience the local culture. Amandine spent time with the host family because she wanted to learn traditional weaving techniques and discover the secrets of a home-made Peruvian meal.

3-An unforgettable encounter in Bolivia

After Peru, Amandine crossed the border to Bolivia and was amazed by the wild beauty of the Salar d’Uyuni; but it is in the small coastal villages that she really discovered the Bolivian spirit. Using a local guide, she was invited to a traditional wedding and although she was a foreigner, the warm welcome of the community made her feel at home.

4-The magic of Ecuador

Her journey then took her to Ecuador where she dived into the Amazon rainforest and Amandine had the chance to stay in an indigenous community, the “kichwa” where she met artisans and learned the art of pottery. More than just a hobby, it was a way to understand their relationship with nature and to support local commerce for example.

5-Colombia: a final stage full of colors

Finally, Amandine headed to Colombia. In the mountains of the coffee region, she immersed herself in the daily life of coffee producers and especially in that of François, her friend with whom she had partnered and whom she came to visit. By visiting her plantation, she learned the process of growing coffee and had the opportunity to work alongside François because by participating concretely in the development of the farm, other than through his financial investment, she really understood the meaning of working the land.
Amandine also visited social reintegration programmes for people affected by past conflicts and was dazzled by the strength and desire for reconciliation that emanated from these projects.

A JOURNEY OF TRANSFORMATION

Amandine’s journey through South America was more than an adventure because it was a real odyssey with learning about different cultures and total immersion. She discovered South America differently!
